April 2007

Over the past few weeks, the choir was set the challenge of learning the music for the new RSCM "Welsh Eucharist" setting by John Harper. After some discussion about which of the two settings we would use for each part of the service, we decided to learn the following settings as they were like by the the choir, vicar (and the organist!) and are suitable for the needs of the church.

The choir coped very well with learning the new settings (with Harmony!) and proceeded to teach the congregation the settings. The response from the congregation was all positive and it was decided that we would use the new setting for the first time on Easter Sunday.

The Welsh Eucharist setting will now be used regularly during the Family Eucharist along with the "Burton in F" and "Simple Setting" that is currently being used.
